In the Yoga Sutras Patañjali (see the front page for links) identifies eight limbs of Yoga. The first limb is Yama (outward observance or restraint). As I mentioned back in January, I’ve divided the year into twenty sections so I can focus on each of the yamas and niyamas throughout the year. Today begins the seaon of brahmacharya.

Yoga is, in large part, about identifying obstacles and eliminating them. I am sure that many would say that a tight hamstring or in-flexible joints are obvious obstacles, not so.
